Round Top
Extended weekend touring and corn skiing around Round Top, near Carson Pass in California. It’s close enough to South Lake Tahoe that after a morning of skiing, we could skin a few miles back to the car, drive into town for a late lunch, then get back to camp with plenty of time before sundown.
One night after sunset, there were faint shapes in the night sky. We didn’t learn until later we’d caught the fringe of the largest solar storm in decades.
